is heritage a fluid thing

„Is Heritage a Fluid Thing?“ explores cultural identity and transgenerational trauma through my personal German-Iranian background. Inspired by Moshtari Hilal’s book „Hässlichkeit“, the work seeks to examine how histories of migration shape the perception of the self, drawing parallels between bodies and gardens as spaces of care and displacement. The photos reflect on belonging and transformation, asking how identity takes root across shifting cultural landscapes.
The accompanying publication of embedded poetry forms a sensuous archive of remembering and re-rooting.
